Hi To reduce the number of new patients not attending their first appointment we have started to take an up front payment at the time of booking by opening an online diary page and booking and taking payment by card with the patients permission. Does anyone see a problem with this way of dealing with the issue.
I’m thinking of doing the same for online bookings.
The number of cancellations and non-attendance has increased significantly the past month.
However, it is the same across all industries.
Just need to work out how to take payments for phone bookings.
Hi Johnnyk, If you use an online booking page and have changed the settings on online new bookings to pay in advance it will offer the payment by card option when you click on the appointment you want to use,
You need to book as if your the patient booking on line.
Johhny when the patient phones open an online booking page as if you were the patient booking on line, then with the new patient on the phone take their details and fill in the pt details and card payment my issue is this acceptable ? for GDPR etc
We have been taking deposits for years and it has reduced our DNA’s massively. Also pre-payment for pay-as-you-go patients means they are less likely to DNA and our osteopaths at least know they will be paid if the patient DNA’s as we have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
